Makeshift Mythology is a show about queer history, including the parts of it we’ll never know.

Every time and place has known of people who defied notions about men, women, and love. Sometimes they've been condemned, other times made room for - and they've always found ways to make room for themselves.

And they've left behind traces: love letters, trial transcripts, myths and legends, and a whole, whole lot of romantic fiction (some things never change). Oftentimes, those traces have survived in fragments, just enough to give a tantalizing glimpse of a story.

Here, we do our best to tell those stories - as history when we can, but also with the help of good guesses, imagination, and parallel stories from the present.
